چکیده
Objective: To detect the frequency of Chlamydia trachomatis in urine samples women with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease visiting a tertiary care hospital using Polymerase Chain Reaction assay and find an association between different risk factors.
 Study Design: Cross-sectional study.
Place Duration Study: Department Microbiology, Army Medical College/National University Sciences Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Mar 2018 to Jan 2019.
Methodology: Over eleven months, 60 diagnosed married females pelvic inflammatory disease ages 14-49 years were included study. DNA was extracted manually commercially available kit. It detected by performing real-time forward primer (5’-CATGAAAACTCGTTCCGAAATAGAA-3’) reverse (5’-TCAGAGCTTTACCTAACAACGCATA-3’) sequence mentioned above for amplification target sequences, trachomatis.
Results: Out sixty cases this study, 12 (20%), 48 (80%) negative. So, our study population estimated at 20%. In addition, age, socioeconomic status, education no sexual partners all factors evaluated their role acquiring infection.
Conclusion: Females having infection other sexually transmitted infections are increased developing due presence asymptomatic nature disease.

Background and Aims: Endometriosis is considered to be one of the most common women's diseases in the world. The exact cause of endometriosis is unknown. In this study, the bacterial agents were considered as the probable factors influencing this disease and the frequency of two bacteria U. urealyticum and C. trachomatis was studied in this disease. Materials and Methods: This study was perfor...
متن کاملUnveiling New Molecular Factors Useful for Detection of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease due to Chlamydia trachomatis Infection
Background. Untreated Chlamydia trachomatis infections in women can result in disease sequelae such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), ultimately culminating in tubal occlusion and infertility. While nucleic acid amplification tests can effectively diagnose uncomplicated lower genital tract infections, they are not suitable for diagnosing upper genital tract pathological sequelae. Objective....
متن کاملThe prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis in patients with pelvic inflammatory disease.
Chlamydia trachomatis is recognized as the most prevalent sexually transmitted organism in many parts of the world. Most complications associated with chlamydial infection in women and their infants can be avoided by appropriate treatment. However, treatment is often not initiated because infections are frequently asymptomatic. The identification of at risk patients and treatment of these patie...

Sera from 35 patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) with and without Chlamydia trachomatis confirmed by culture and sera from 19 control patients with neither evidence of pelvic infection nor C trachomatis infection were studied for the presence of serum IgG, IgA, and IgM antibodies to C trachomatis using enzyme immunoassay (EIA) and immunoblotting techniques. There was no correl...
متن کاملAssociations between Mycoplasma genitalium, Chlamydia trachomatis and pelvic inflammatory disease.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the association between Mycoplasma genitalium, Chlamydia trachomatis, and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) METHODS: A case-control methodology was used. Swab eluates were processed using the QIAamp DNA mini kit. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for M genitalium was carried out using a real time in-house 16S based assay. An endocervical swab was taken and tested for the pre...
